Canned Wine Co No.4 St Laurent (1451)

Not only does canning significantly reduce C02 emissions by over 70% per litre compared to traditional heavy bottles, they ensure the wine is canned at the perfect time to drink. Once canned it's airtight, so it's not going to get any better - you get the best drinking moment first, experiencing the wine at it's most optimum. 
Meet No.4 St Laurent, a characterful, single variety from Weingut Glatzer in the Carnuntum wine region. The indigenous grape is like Pinot Noir but with dark fruit. Hand-harvested, macerated on its skins for two week and matured for twelve months in oak barrique. The St Laurent is inky purple in colour with aromas of red plums, mulberries, tangy cherries and cocoa nibs. A palate of cranberries, cherries and plums over peppercorn spice and rustic tannins. It has a long finish of tart red berries, clove spice and rhubarb. 
Our Food Pairing 
The medium body and notable, yet soft tannins just beg for richly flavoured foods such as roast duck, mushroom risotto or cured meats. We recommend pairing alongside our Beef Goulash and Rice or Slow Cooked Beef Bourguignon, as it can hold it's own against the richness. Perfect for an evening in.
