Rich minced beef ragu layered with egg pasta and creamy bechamel sauce (270g)
Sheets of fresh, free range egg pasta layered with a rich, meaty British & Irish beef ragu. The onions, carrots and celery are sweated in oil to make the 'soffrito' base. 'Soffrito' is the Italian word for “fried slowly” and perfectly describes the process of gently cooking the holy trinity of onion, carrot and celery in oil to soften them and release their flavour. This provides an aromatic flavour base for this beef ragu and most Italian soups & stews. The ragu is then flavoured with tomatoes, red wine, garlic & oregano. Topped with a creamy extra matured cheddar cheese bechamel sauce Bake in the oven for a delicious 'al forno' main. Our Serving Suggestion Give your lasagne more Italian flair by serving with an antipasti platter of your favourite continental meats and cheeses. Perfect served with a lightly dressed green salad or a side of steamed broccoli. To make this dish even more indulgent, shower the top with finely grated Parmesan and mozzarella 10-12 minutes before the end of the cooking time for a bubbling cheese crust. Our Drinks Pairing With the rich, meaty ragu, there is only one answer: the wine must be red – with good acidity, medium body and an abundant fruity flavour. This would pair excellently with our soft, rounded Pierre Lacasse Cabernet Sauvignon with a silky finish.

Remove sleeve, pierce film several times and place in microwave.

850W microwaves: Full power for 1 minute 40 seconds.
1000W microwaves: Full power for 1 minute 20 seconds.
After heating allow to stand for 1 minute, then carefully peel back the film (CAUTION: hot steam may escape) and serve.
DO NOT REHEAT.
Remove sleeve and film. Remove the contents from the tray.
Place in an oven proof dish and cover with foil.
Place in a preheated oven for 20-25 minutes.

Make sure food is hot throughout and serve.
