Michael's meal memories

The first time we ever had a takeaway, Dad came home with sweet and sour chicken from the little place that had just opened by the post office. Mum looked relieved to have a night off cooking, and Dad was proud to have brought home something hot and new. We kids hovered for a taste. The chicken was tender, the sauce bright and tangy, and somehow dinner felt like a small treat from somewhere far away.
