Arthur's meal memories

I still have the photograph taken on the beach at Torquay, just after Grandad’s deckchair gave way and swallowed him whole. We hauled him out of the sand, tried not to laugh too loudly, and took him straight to one of his favourite spots for dinner. A plate of beef and mushroom stroganoff and a generous brandy soon had him seeing the funny side of things too.
