Elizabeth's meal memories

It seemed like overnight everyone was experimenting with vegetables in new ways. I’d only ever boiled or roasted mine, but I wanted to see what the fuss was about. Onion, pepper, carrot, even pineapple, all tossed in a sticky, tangy sauce. I knew sweet and sour vegetables were a hit because the kids kept asking for the “funny fruity mix” for weeks after.
