Andrew's meal memories

Our favourite hotel on the south coast had a grand dining room that overlooked the sea. We’d put on our best clothes and try to pronounce things from the menu we’d never even heard of before. That’s how we first discovered dauphinoise potatoes. We tucked in and joked that even the humble hotel spuds had got dressed up for dinner.
