Lamb & Chickpea Tagine (1336)
A Moroccan style stew made with succulent pieces of lamb in a fragrant, spiced tomato sauce with chickpeas and apricots (270g).
This Moroccan inspired Lamb and Chickpea Tagine is a delight. It’s the perfect one pot dinner for a comforting and delicious meal with melt-in-your-mouth British & Irish lamb, chickpeas, chunks of butternut squash and apricots. Fall in love with the tender slow-cooked lamb in its gently spiced aromatic sauce. Our Serving Suggestion Couscous or giant couscous are perfect for serving with this stew, absorbing the rich sauce. Serve over cauliflower rice for a lower carb option. Basmati rice or mashed potatoes are also suitable – though not as traditional a choice as the couscous. Top with a little natural or Greek yoghurt and garnish with fresh sprigs of coriander and chopped pistachios and serve with flatbreads to mop up the delicious sauce Our Drinks Pairing If the stew is spicy like this tagine then you need a slightly sweeter style of red such as an Australian Shiraz, Zinfandel, Pinotage or a modern Spanish red, wines that also come into play when you serve sweet flavoured veg such as sweet potatoes, butternut squash and corn alongside. But watch out for big tannins which can combine with spicy flavours to create a palate overload.
