Established by Joe and Dawn Reade in 1994, beginning life as a local bakers in Tobermory which expanded with the opening of Island Bakery Delicatessen. It was this opening which sparked the idea to create tempting organic biscuits. Keen to create irresistible biscuits which would grow beyond Mull, in 2001 Island Bakery Organics was born. In it’s first year, the company picked up several Great Taste awards, an industry sign of excellent crafted food. As the world of biscuits expanded the duo sold their deli shop to focus solely on these edible snacks and in 2012 opened a new bakery. Powered by local renewable energy, wind and water for electricity, and wood for heating the ovens. Scottish, organic and sustainably made, these biscuits are irresistible and perfect for when you are just not feeling that hungry or just fancy a nibble! Island Bakery Shortbread Biscuits, there is no nonsense here, just a simple, rich all-butter shortbread. Made with just four ingredients, to deliver just the right balance of crunch, sweetness and the rich butter taste you can only get from an all-butter recipe. Our Serving Suggestion Perfect served with a delicious cup of proper English tea, or as an afternoon sweet treat why not serve alongside our Belvoir Sparkling Elderflower Presse, over ice with a slice of lemon.
