Hearty and warming, this casserole is packed with tender chunks of British beef in a rich Battle Axe ale gravy with button mushrooms and carrots seasoned with  thyme and cracked black pepper . Topped with beef suet dumpling 

Our Serving Suggestion
Serve with carrot & swede mash or Cheddar Cheese mash and some crunchy roasted parsnips. After baking in the oven scatter over some freshly chopped flat leaf parsley to brighten the flavour!

Stews tend to be intensely flavoured with a rich thick sauce so you could argue that you need a big wine to hold its own. But that can be overwhelming. We prefer a slightly lighter more rustic red - grape varieties such as Syrah, Grenache, Malbec and Tempranillo hit the spot for us

For best results please microwave.
Remove sleeve, pierce film several times and place in microwave.

The following is a guide only.
850W microwaves: Full power for 2 minutes 30 seconds.
1000W microwaves: Full power for 2 minutes.

After heating allow to stand for 1 minute, then carefully peel back the film (CAUTION: hot steam may escape) remove dumplings, stir the casserole and serve.

Remove sleeve and film. Remove the contents from the tray and place in an oven proof dish and cover with foil.
Place in a preheated oven for 25 minutes.
Remove foil and cook for a further 5 minutes.

Make sure food is hot throughout and serve.
